Mrs Raisch (19.04.1921-21.01.2010)
She was born at the beginig of the last century in Czernowitz a city with a meaningful history of change and war brought by the ruling of different countries like Romania, Germany and Russia among others.
Mrs. Raisch is a very kind and humorous person. She loves to tell stories about her past. In doing so, she talks about her school time, which she describes as a “very difficult” time; she also talks about her family, love and friendship, things to which she gives a special value. She also describes experiences and adventures during the World War II, and the later occupation by the Soviet Union.
Due to her age (almost 89 years old), Mrs. Raisch is confronted with the lost of her memory. Her everyday is affected by confusion; she searches after things she has misplaced and forgets what she was last asked; she repeats herself often…
Nevertheless, one can learn many things from Mrs. Raisch. Her point of view is embossed with experiences, which can be strange to the new generations. She is more than a time witness, and a Holocaust survivor; she is the example of a strong woman, who regardless of her difficult life has kept a positive attitude and a love for life.
